This is a slightly detailed tutorial for VR setup in Backrooms.

Requirements

If you wish to play Backrooms in VR, you must have the following:

• Any Android smartphone with good performance, gyroscope, accelerator and with Android version of Backrooms installed on it
• Any Mobile VR Headset or VR viewer (VR lenses also work)
• Good room space free of any dangerous obstacles (2x2m is enough)

Playing

When you have all the requirements, you can start playing Backrooms in VR as described below:

1- Open Backrooms on your Android smartphone

2- Press ‘Wake Up’ > ‘VR(Only Android)’ or press ‘Switch to VR’ at bottom-right corner of screen and choose a difficulty (if your smartphone doesn’t have gyroscope or accelerator you’ll see ‘VR(Not Compatible)’ instead of ‘VR(Android)’ button)

3- Wear your VR Headset or attach your phone to your VR viewer/lens

4- Look straight and press on ‘Ready’ button

5- You will be brought to a free mode without enemies or score to try out 3 different input methods:

• Touch to Move: Touch anywhere on your mobile screen to move forward. Good for Handheld viewers like Google Cardboard or any VR lenses. You can also click on screen with bluetooth controllers.
• Joystick: Use any standard bluetooth connected controllers like Xbox to move around. Check your joystick or controller before launching Backrooms!
• Automatic: Look straight to move forward or tilt your head to go sideways. If you can’t use other two options, this is the only way for you to play in VR!

6- Move around and see if you’re comfortable with your setup and explore Backrooms in a Free VR mode without enemies and score (You can teleport back to choosing controls with ‘Teleport Back’ button under your feet)

7- Press on ‘Start Game’ whenever you’re ready to begin playing Backrooms in VR
